Co-sleeping and Nursing
Wednesday, March 7, 2007
When my husband and I brought our daughters home from the hospital we were both firm believers in co-sleeping. Consequently I never missed a wink of sleep. I remained just as well rested as I had been before delivering my babies. As is customary for newborns, both my daughters woke up routinely at all hours of the night. But, as a breastfeeding mama, all I did was simply position my daughters on one of my breasts, they'd suckle and then fall right back to sleep. As our daughters grew, whenever they woke up during the night, they could find my nipple themselves and suckle until they were content. What wonderful times those were. Gosh, I loved breastfeeding!
If you're a mom who would also like to co-sleep, but may have serious concerns about rolling over onto your baby, here's a product that you should certainly purchase. It's called the Nursing Pea and allows you to nurse at night with the peace of mind of knowing you won't smother your baby while you sleep. The Nursing Pea is a five-time award winning innovative product for nursing mothers and retails for $37.95 - $47.95.
